How are you preparing your leadership team for 2021?
In a recent survey of 100 CEOs of mid-sized enterprises, more than 60% reported that they won’t have any sort of business plan for the coming year. If that doesn’t sound like 2020, than I don’t know what does!
But why? Well, smart executives have discovered that many of these old-fashioned planning methods and practices don’t work anymore. Business and corporate planning processes have not changed in fifty years. They’re too complex, time consuming, and produce little or no benefit. In other words, they are almost always a waste of time, energy, and resources.
But here is the problem, this leaves critical business goals to chance, or worse yet, risks missing them by a mile.
Without intentional preparation, many leadership teams will most likely slog through the coming year with little or no improvement in results. Profit opportunities will likely be overlooked and key initiatives fall by the wayside.
As someone who strongly believes in proper preparation, there are many tools available on the market that will help you build your plan for 2021. I am a big proponent of The One Page Business Plan. I have used it with clients – small, mid-sized and large enterprises, and everyone has found value in the tool. This planning system has been designed to:
Increase revenues and profits
Develop stronger communication between divisions
Cascade strategic decisions throughout your organization
Focus people and resources on achieving company goals
Help develop high performance leaders
If you’re interested in learning how you can put this to use in your business, let me know and I’ll gladly walk you through the program. 2020 was a year for the history books, let 2021 be a banner year for your business.
