Action — but the right kind of action. 

What do I mean by the right kind of action? Well, I don’t mean busyness. Busyness doesn’t build momentum or get results. As leaders, we must be careful when looking at the wrong activity. The action you want is an action that drives the results you want. This is where accountability comes in. The accountability you want drives success, not the kind that only measures results and keeps the score. There are lag and lead measures. Are you a humble leader?

Today my question is, what does it mean to be a humble leader? I'm sure you have experienced people in a position of leadership who are arrogant and have a "know it all "mentality. After all, they are the leader, the boss; they are supposed to have all the answers. Merriam-Webster defines humility as "freedom from pride or arrogance." Compare? Don’t you dare? 

Comparison for a leader is dangerous. It can prevent us from celebrating our accomplishments. You may have just done a great thing, and when you compare it to great things others have done, it can be a "downer." I like the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, "Comparison is the thief of joy."
