At some point in our leadership journey we all realize to effectively influence and inspire we must “flip the switch” from “me” to “we.”
There simply is no other way to help people grow and reach their full potential. In simple terms, IT’S ALWAYS ABOUT THE PEOPLE.
In Bill George’s book, True North, he cites Jack Welch of General Electric. Jack is a West Point graduate and a star at GE. Jack said “When you become a leader your challenge is to inspire others, develop them and create change through them, you’ve got to flip the switch and understand that it’s about serving the folks on your team.”
There it is in a nutshell. It’s not about me/you, it’s about them.
In what specific way can you serve your people better?
