Equipping to execute as the leader. 

As a leader, you set expectations for individuals and for your team. Therefore, you own execution. What I have found to be true is that people buy into the leader first, before they buy into the vision or the mission. As we enter a new year, now may be a good time to assess how well you are equipping your people to execute. Consider asking yourself: Have I truly connected with them as individuals? What are you allowing—and what are you creating?

In the end, as a leader, everything comes down to two things: what you allow and what you tolerate. As we begin a new year, I recently challenged you to commit to a single New Year’s resolution as a leader—identify one area of your leadership that you will intentionally work to improve this year. Just one competency. My hope is that you are not only identifying it, but also putting a clear plan in place to grow and strengthen that skill. Happy New Year! 

2026 is here. I want to wish the Leader’s Lab community all of God’s blessings in the New Year. Health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.
